Residential – 77 Bawnmore Road

This new building occupies a prominent corner site in the middle of the Malone conservation area. This presented many problems in the planning process as the clients preference was for an uncompromisingly contemporary solution. The ground floor of the dwelling is essentially a single room with living dinning and kitchen accommodation. The s.steel and glass stair leads to the first floor which incorporates bedrooms and bathrooms. The accommodation is maximised by locating two of the bedrooms in the second floor within the roof. The windows are powder coated aluminum with projecting reveals in zinc. The walls are in self-coloured render and the projecting porch is in Iroko timber cladding. The most striking element are the large projecting monopitch roofs in standing seam zinc.
